The Board's Mission is to promote the public health, safety, and welfare by safeguarding the people and animals of Idaho by establishing and enforcing professional standards in the licensure and regulation of veterinary health professionals.

 

The Latest
Effective July 1, 2009, all applicants must undergo a criminal background check prior to veterinary licensure, veterinary technology certification or euthanasia technician certification.

Application Deadlines
Grandfathering of Veterinary Technicians expired June 30, 2002; an AVMA accredited veterinary technology education is now required. Applications for Veterinarians and Technicians must arrive at the Board Office by January 1st or June 1st of each year. The Board will meet in January and June each year to review the completed applications.
